Solvay settled in 1975 in Incheon, Korea as the first business area in Asia, and established the Solvay Silica Korea plant. Solvay invented ‘Green Tire’ that lowers fuel economy by applying silica to tires for the first time in the world. In addition, the silica material used in toothpaste contributes to oral health by increasing the activity of fluorine to prevent tooth decay.
In 2016, Solvay Silica Korea transferred its innovative process technology to Saemangeum Industrial Complex in Gunsan.
